Dividing Time is the first release on Peter Corvaia's own label, Kantlost. Drawn from a larger collection of music originally intended as a full-length album, the EP gathers four tracks that sit together like fragments of the same memory.
The release moves through beatless ambience, slow-burning electronics, and hypnotic techno, held together by a mood of melancholy hope. The title track opens as a blurred choir of tones, suspended somewhere between distance and comfort. "Hulean" drifts forward with laid-back confidence, evoking old television glow and late-day Los Angeles light. "Ransom" shifts the focus to the freeway - direct, physical, and techno-veering - while "Talisman" closes the release with live-recorded drums, rounded bass, and a hypnotic sense of motion.
Nostalgic but forward-moving, intimate but propulsive, Dividing Time marks the beginning of Kantlost with a sound caught between memory and momentum.
